I'm confused. I thought mercenary corps were supposed to be objective . If you can't fulfill the contract then you simply decline it, you don't screw over the client. Am I understanding correct that the mercs turned against their client?

And how exactly would the client know when the merc corp they're hiring is up for a scam or actual merc work? Don't get me wrong, like you said, a scam is a scam. But it will hurt your corp in the long run when you claim to be a merc corp and actually scam your clients out of isk.
And it shouldn't matter who your hiring mercs against. I'm sure there are merc corps out there that would take contracts against other merc corps. So to say "you don't hire mercs against mercs" is silly.

Originally by: Fintroll To clarify, the mistake he made was trying to pay Kublai ISK to attack Kublai's friends.
How would he have known that they are friends with Kublai? The question is, who isn't friends with Kublai?
The mistake he made was actually believing you guys were mercs. Kudos on the scam though.

So in a nutshell - was A-War pretending to be a Merc corp to scam this guy of his isk?
If so - wow, do your homework carebears!
I think they actually believe they're a merc corp If I'm wrong, then what I say is blasphemy and I'm sowwy

Originally by: kublai A-War is NOT a merc corp, we have done some merc work, and we might do again but it's only for fun and we would only consider it if paid very well, but no, we're not a mercenary corp.
After this, if anyone "pays you very well" or even at all to do a merc job then they deserve to be scammed .

Well, it seems it's still a crap shoot whether you'll fulfill a contract or not. I guess you decide who's to fulfill and who's not. Still makes your "client" from 30 minutes ago a fool for trusting you with his isk. Even if "this time" you decided to honor the contract.

Edited by: Matrix Skye on 31/12/2008 15:40:43 Oh I see. If it's a scam, then the individual did it, not the corp. If the contract is honored, then the corp takes prop. Gotcha :P. Now it's just a matter of figuring out when Kublai is doing business on behalf of his corp and when it's on behalf of himself .

Originally by: kublai what suprises me though is how fast supposedly honest and kind people who accuse me of being horrible irl due to my actions, turn to wanting to burn my unborn children on stakes.
Actually Kublai, you are an a**hole in real life.
To anyone interested read the link above. Shows Kublai being the same jerk he is ingame as well as out of game. Of course we'll see his brigade of "loyal fans" explaining this one away... Should be interesting to say the least .
I love C&P hypocrisy \o/

Edited by: Matrix Skye on 01/01/2009 01:24:47 ^^ Yes, that completely invalidated my post. Well done.
Even though I have no qualms about admitting I troll trolls (like yourself, might I add), care in pointing out exactly where my claim is false?
You griefers are teh funneh with your hypocrisy. "I'm only an a-hole in game, not in real life". Right .
Again, to anyone interested in learning a lil' bit about what Kublai is like in real life, click the link above.

Isn't there a single Kublai die-hard "fan" willing to explain this wonderful person's real life actions on the link above?
Didn't think so. Happy New Year.

Hey Kublai,
You're welcome in coming by and explaining how you're different from your in-game persona in real life. With all the calls for me to be a man and post with my main, you would think that a-holes like you would man up and cut the hypocrisy.

Your hypocrisy is amusing.

It's not that difficult to find out whose alt I belong to :). I use this same toon to keep my main safe from gatecamps. You just have to put in a lil bit of work. 's all :).

So basically you want me served on a platter and fed to you intravenously? I use an alt as a... What is it you griefer types call it when you warp away from danger?... Ah yes, a "strategic move", it's not cowardice. Don't want the silly nilly pirate carebears griefing my alliance over my own opinions.
